GHK-Cu is a coordination complex formed between the peptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine and a copper(II) ion. The unbound chain, abbreviated GHK, consists of three amino acids and occurs naturally in human plasma, saliva, and urine. Binding of the metal is mediated mainly by the imidazole nitrogen of the histidine residue together with backbone amides, producing a stable chelate. Ingredient nomenclature often lists the same substance as copper tripeptide-1. Its charge and solubility behaviour differ from those of the metal-free chain.
The copper-binding activity of this sequence was described in the 1970s during studies of liver tissue and plasma factors. Early work identified the peptide as a component that influenced copper uptake by cells and that appeared in wound fluid. Later investigations examined its presence across species, reporting the same chain in human and animal samples. A decline in measured concentration with age became a recurring observation, although the underlying causes remain incompletely characterised.
Published studies describe the complex in several research contexts, including collagen synthesis, antioxidant behaviour, and wound repair models. Much of this work is conducted in cultured cells or in small animal systems, and the findings are frequently cited in reviews of copper peptides. Direct clinical evidence in humans is comparatively limited, and reported outcomes vary with formulation and study design. Whether free chain or metal-bound form was used is not always stated, a point that complicates comparison between reports.
Solid material is typically kept as a lyophilised powder in a sealed, light-protected container at minus 20 degrees Celsius, with desiccant where humidity is high. Working solutions are often prepared fresh, aliquoted and frozen to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Glassware and buffers are checked for trace metal contamination, since other transition metals can displace copper. Records of lot number, reconstitution date and storage temperature help trace unexpected colour changes. Blue colour itself is not a reliable purity test, because partly degraded solutions can remain visibly coloured.
Identity and purity are normally checked by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, often coupled to mass spectrometry. The peptide absorbs in the ultraviolet region, and the copper complex also shows a broad visible absorption band that can be followed spectroscopically. Copper content is measured separately, for example by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry or atomic absorption spectroscopy, because the peptide assay alone does not confirm how much metal is bound. Purity figures therefore need a stated basis: peptide peak area, copper content, or both.
Aqueous GHK-Cu solutions are less stable than the dry powder. Light, dissolved oxygen and elevated temperature all accelerate loss of the intact complex, and the main observable changes are fading of the blue colour and the appearance of peptide fragments. Acidic conditions protonate the histidine imidazole and weaken copper binding, while strongly alkaline conditions promote hydrolysis of the peptide backbone. Because several degradation routes operate at once, a single shelf-life figure does not describe all storage conditions.

Quality control for GHK-Cu relies on documentation and independent testing rather than a single accepted standard. A certificate of analysis may report peptide purity, copper content, residual solvents, water content, and microbial limits, but the underlying methods and acceptance criteria vary by supplier. Verification can include mass confirmation, amino acid analysis, and comparison with a reference standard when one is available. Open questions include how different copper-binding modes or peptide isomers affect measured activity and whether conventional purity assays capture those differences. Buyers of research-grade material typically need to request raw data rather than rely solely on a summary certificate.
Laboratory characterization of GHK-Cu typically combines separation, spectroscopic, and elemental techniques. Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography is widely used to assess peptide purity, often with ultraviolet detection near the copper-related absorption band or with mass spectrometry for identity confirmation. Because the molecule contains copper, elemental methods such as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry or atomic absorption spectroscopy are used to quantify metal content and confirm stoichiometry. No single universal pharmacopeial monograph exists for GHK-Cu. Laboratories therefore validate their own methods, and reported purity values depend on the chosen assay and calibration standards.
Stability of GHK-Cu is influenced by light, oxygen, moisture, pH, and temperature. Solid material is generally kept desiccated and frozen to reduce hydrolysis and oxidation, while aqueous solutions are best prepared fresh or stored cold in aliquots. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles can promote aggregation, precipitation, or peptide degradation. Copper coordination may change under strongly acidic or alkaline conditions, potentially altering the complex's spectroscopic properties. Published long-term stability data for specific matrices, such as cosmetic emulsions or biological buffers, are limited, so shelf-life claims should be treated as formulation-specific rather than universal.
Analytical verification commonly relies on high-performance liquid chromatography for purity assessment and mass spectrometry for identity confirmation. Spectroscopic methods such as UV-visible absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance can probe the metal centre itself, since the d9 configuration of copper(II) produces characteristic signals. Elemental analysis or plasma-based techniques quantify copper content. Because each method reports a different aspect of the same sample, purity figures are most meaningful when the technique and its detection wavelength are stated alongside the value.
Stability of the complex in solution depends on pH, temperature, and the presence of competing ligands. It is generally described as more resistant to breakdown than the metal-free chain, since coordination reduces susceptibility to enzymatic attack. Oxidation and hydrolysis can nevertheless proceed over time in aqueous media. Storage guidance in laboratory settings commonly involves refrigeration, protection from light, and avoidance of strongly alkaline conditions. Published data on long-term behaviour vary considerably and depend on the specific matrix.

Uranium-238 (238U or U-238) is the most common isotope of uranium found in nature, with a relative abundance above 99%. Unlike uranium-235, it is non-fissile, which means it cannot sustain a chain reaction in a thermal-neutron reactor. However, it is fissionable by fast neutrons, and is fertile, meaning it can be transmuted to fissile plutonium-239. 238U cannot support a chain reaction because inelastic scattering reduces neutron energy below the range where fast fission of one or more next-generation nuclei is probable. Doppler broadening of 238U's neutron absorption resonances, increasing absorption as fuel temperature increases, is also an essential negative feedback mechanism for reactor control. The isotope has a half-life of 4.463 billion years (1.408×1017 s). Due to its abundance and half-life relative rate of decay to other radioactive elements, 238U is responsible for about 40% of the radioactive heat produced within the Earth. The 238U decay chain contributes six electron anti-neutrinos per 238U nucleus (one per beta decay), resulting in a large detectable geoneutrino signal when decays occur within the Earth. The decay of 238U to daughter isotopes is extensively used in radiometric dating, particularly for material older than approximately 1 million years. Depleted uranium has an even higher concentration of the 238U isotope, and even low-enriched uranium (LEU), while having a higher proportion of the uranium-235 isotope (in comparison to depleted uranium), is still mostly 238U.
I should say I wanted to write poetry in the beginning because I had fallen in love with words. The first poems I knew were nursery rhymes and before I could read them for myself I had come to love the words of them. The words alone. What the words stood for was of a very secondary importance... I fell in love, that is the only expression I can think of, at once, and am still at the mercy of words, though sometimes now, knowing a little of their behaviour very well, I think I can influence them slightly and have even learned to beat them now and then, which they appear to enjoy. I tumbled for words at once. And, when I began to read the nursery rhymes for myself, and, later, to read other verses and ballads, I knew that I had discovered the most important things, to me, that could be ever. Thomas became an accomplished writer of prose poetry, with collections such as Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog (1940) and Quite Early One Morning (1954) showing he was capable of writing moving short stories. His first published prose work, After the Fair, appeared in The New English Weekly on 15 March 1934. Jacob Korg believes that one can classify Thomas's fiction work into two main bodies: vigorous fantasies in a poetic style and, after 1939, more straightforward narratives. Korg surmises that Thomas approached his prose writing as an alternate poetic form, which allowed him to produce complex, involuted narratives that do not allow the reader to rest.
== Constitutional status == Article 1 (1) of the Indian constitution says that India shall be a "Union of States", which is elaborated under Parts V (The Union) and VI (The States) of the constitution. Article 1 (3) says the territory of India comprises the territories of the states, the union territories and other territories that may be acquired. The concept of union territories was not in the original version of the constitution, but was added by the Constitution (Seventh Amendment) Act, 1956. Article 366(30) also defines union territory as any union territory specified in the First Schedule and includes any other territory comprised within the territory of India but not specified in that schedule. In the constitution wherever it refers to territories of India, it is applicable to the whole country including union territories. Where it refers to only India, it applies to all states only but not to union territories. Thus, citizenship (part II), fundamental rights (part III), Directive Principles of State Policy (part IV), Judiciary role, the Union Territories (part VIII), Article 245, etc. apply to union territories as it refers specifically to territories of India. The executive power of the Union (i.e. union of states only) rests with the president of India. The president of India is also the chief administrator of union territories as per Article 239. The union public service commission's role does not apply to all territories of India as it refers to India only in Part XIV.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup was the 23rd FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men's soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament began on June 11, 2026, and concluded on July 19 with Spain winning the championship for the second time. It was jointly hosted by 16 cities—11 in the United States, 3 in Mexico, and 2 in Canada. The tournament was the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted by three countries and the first to include 48 teams, an expansion from the previous 32-team format. The 2026 tournament was the second World Cup to be hosted by multiple nations, after the 2002 edition. Mexico became the first country to host the World Cup three times, having hosted the 1970 and 1986 tournaments. The United States previously hosted the World Cup in 1994, while it was Canada's first time hosting the tournament. The event returned to its traditional June–July schedule after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which was uniquely held in November and December to avoid Qatar's extreme summer heat. Canada, Mexico, and the United States qualified automatically as hosts, while Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan made their World Cup debuts. For the first time in the tournament's history, the top four teams from the FIFA Men's World Ranking at the time of the contest (Argentina, Spain, France, and England) advanced to the semifinals. Spain won the final against defending champion Argentina 1–0 after extra time, winning its second title and first since 2010.
RNA editing (also RNA modification) is a molecular process through which some cells can make discrete changes to specific nucleotide sequences within an RNA molecule after it has been generated by RNA polymerase. It occurs in all living organisms and is one of the most evolutionarily conserved properties of RNAs. RNA editing may include the insertion, deletion, and base substitution of nucleotides within the RNA molecule. RNA editing is relatively rare, with common forms of RNA processing (e.g. splicing, 5'-capping, and 3'-polyadenylation) not usually considered as editing. It can affect the activity, localization as well as stability of RNAs, and has been linked with human diseases. RNA editing has been observed in some tRNA, rRNA, mRNA, or miRNA molecules of eukaryotes and their viruses, archaea, and prokaryotes. RNA editing occurs in the cell nucleus, as well as within mitochondria and plastids. In vertebrates, editing is rare and usually consists of a small number of changes to the sequence of the affected molecules. In other organisms, such as squids, extensive editing (pan-editing) can occur; in some cases the majority of nucleotides in an mRNA sequence may result from editing. More than 160 types of RNA modifications have been described so far. The discovery of RNA modifications that result in the suppressing of immunogenicity of therapeutic mRNA led to their eventual adoption for COVID mRNA vaccines, and was recognized with the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman.
On June 30, 2009, the song "A Looking in View" was made available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon, and for a limited time it was available as a free download through the official Alice in Chains website in early July. Although it was not the album's first radio single, Rock stations across the U.S. started playing the song. The music video for "A Looking in View" debuted via the band's official website on July 7, 2009. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. "Check My Brain" was released to radio stations as the first official single from the album on August 14, 2009, and was made available for purchase on August 17, 2009. The music video for "Check My Brain" premiered on September 14, 2009. The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. To promote the album, the band released an EPK featuring all four of the members being interviewed while the Kiss makeup is being applied on them. An app for iPhone was released on October 27, 2009, featuring songs, music videos, news, photos and networking.
This led to the 2008 Andean diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, supported by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. On March 3, Iván Ríos, also a member of the FARC Central High Command was killed by his security chief, "Rojas". In March 2008 alone, FARC lost 3 members of their Secretariat, including their founder. On May 24, 2008, Colombian magazine, Revista Semana, published an interview with Colombian Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos in which Santos mentioned the death of Manuel Marulanda Vélez. The news was confirmed by FARC-commander "Timochenko" on Venezuelan-based television station Telesur on May 25, 2008. "Timochenko" announced the new commander in chief as "Alfonso Cano". In May 2008, a dozen jailed paramilitary leaders were extradited to the United States on drug-related charges. In 2009, extradited paramilitary leader Salvatore Mancuso would go on to claim that the AUC had supported Uribe's 2002 election, but said it was a result of their similar "ideological discourse" and not the result of any direct prior arrangement. On July 2, 2008, the Colombian armed forces launched Operation Jaque which resulted in the freedom of 15 political hostages, including former Colombian presidential candidate Íngrid Betancourt, Marc Gonsalves, Thomas Howes, and Keith Stansell, three American military contractors employed by Northrop Grumman, and 11 Colombian military and police members. Two FARC members were arrested.
=== Honey bee products === Honey bee products are used medicinally across Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas, despite the fact that the honey bee was not introduced to the Americas until the colonization by Spain and Portugal. They are by far the most common medical insect product, both historically and currently. Honey is the most frequently referenced medical bee material. It can be applied to skin to treat excessive scar tissue, rashes, and burns, and can be applied as a poultice to eyes to treat infection. It is also consumed for digestive problems and as a general health restorative, and can be heated and consumed to treat head colds, cough, throat infections, laryngitis, tuberculosis, and lung diseases. Additionally, apitoxin, or honey bee venom, can be applied via direct stings to relieve arthritis, rheumatism, polyneuritis, and asthma. Propolis, a resinous, waxy mixture collected by honeybees and used as a hive insulator and sealant, is often consumed by menopausal women because of its high hormone content, and it is said to have antibiotic, anesthetic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Royal jelly is used to treat anemia, gastrointestinal ulcers, arteriosclerosis, hypo- and hypertension, and inhibition of sexual libido. Finally Bee bread, or bee pollen, is eaten as a generally health restorative, and is said to help treat both internal and external infections. All of these honey bee products are regularly produced and sold, especially online and in health food stores, though none are yet approved by the FDA.

The history of Poland spans over a thousand years, from medieval tribes, Christianization and monarchy; through Poland's Golden Age, expansionism and becoming one of the largest European powers; to its collapse and partitions, two world wars, communism, and the restoration of democracy. The roots of Polish history can be traced to ancient times, when the territory of present-day Poland was inhabited by diverse ethnic groups, including Celts, Scythians, Sarmatians, Slavs, Balts and Germanic peoples. However, it was the West Slavic Lechites, the closest ancestors of ethnic Poles, who established permanent settlements during the Early Middle Ages. The Lechitic Western Polans, a tribe whose name denotes "people living in open fields", dominated the region and gave Poland—which lies in the North-Central European Plain—its name. The first ruling dynasty, the Piasts, emerged in the 10th century AD. Duke Mieszko I, regarded as the creator of Polish statehood, adopted Western Christianity in 966 AD. Mieszko's dominion was formally reconstituted as a medieval kingdom in 1025 by his son Bolesław I the Brave, known for his military expansions. The most successful and the last Piast monarch, Casimir III the Great, presided over a period of economic prosperity and territorial aggrandizement before his death in 1370 without male heirs.
=== Chemistry === The maturation process causes four main chemical transformations to the tequila compounds: (1) decreasing of fusel oils by the char in barrels, which acts as an absorbing agent; (2) extraction of complex wood constituents by tequila, giving specific aroma and flavor to the final product; (3) reactions among the components of tequila, creating new chemical compounds; and (4) oxidation of the original contents of tequila and of those extracted from wood. The final results of these changes are increased concentrations of acids, esters and aldehydes, and a decrease in fusel oil concentration.
=== Other conditions === Catatonia is also seen in many medical disorders, including encephalitis, meningitis, autoimmune disorders, focal neurological lesions (including strokes), alcohol withdrawal, abrupt or overly rapid benzodiazepine withdrawal, cerebrovascular disease, neoplasms, head injury, and some metabolic conditions (e.g.,homocystinuria, diabetic ketoacidosis, hepatic encephalopathy, and hypercalcaemia).
President of League of Communists of Serbia Slobodan Milošević visited Kosovo in April 1987 and promised rapid action in order to protect peace and the Serbs of Kosovo. Ethnic tensions in Kosovo heated up when a Kosovo Albanian soldier opened fire on his fellow soldiers in Paraćin, in an event known as the Paraćin massacre. Then President of Serbia Ivan Stambolić wanted to make compromise, rather than fast solution. He found himself in a clash with Milošević. This conflict culminated with 8th Session and replacement of Stambolić with Petar Gračanin as President of Serbia.

GHK denotes the unbound chain of three amino acids. GHK-Cu describes the form in which a copper(II) ion is held by that chain. The two are not interchangeable in solution, since charge, molecular weight, and reactivity differ.
The chain occurs in human plasma, saliva, and urine. Measured amounts are reported to fall with age. Copper binding by the sequence is treated as part of normal metal handling in tissue.
The bound copper(II) centre contributes to redox behaviour and to stability under physiological conditions. Free copper ions can participate in reactions that generate reactive species, while chelated metal is generally more controlled. The chain may also serve as a carrier for copper in experimental systems.
The colour depends on copper held in a specific coordination environment. When the complex dissociates or the peptide is cleaved, that environment changes and the visible absorption weakens.
